Dr. Sylvia Gutierrez, DVM

Dr Gutierrez was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and decided to leave the ocean and sunshine and experience college life in the Midwest. Yes, the winters were brutal but the warmth and diversity of  people she met were truly amazing. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Neurobiology and Physiology as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree at Purdue University. 

After graduation, she had the opportunity to spend time in San Diego at the Wild Animal Park and Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital of San Diego. This is where she met her husband Michael. They relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona where she spent 8 

years working alongside a doctor that specialized in dermatololgy. This was an extremely valuable experience for her. 

Her husband's job transferred her to Dallas in 2003. Texas has been so special to her since this is where her boys Dante and Vasco were born.

Dante is now a sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering at her alma mater, Purdue. Vasco is a freshman in high school playing tennis for the Hebron team. 

When she is not at tennis tournaments, Dr G loves to travel, ski, read, and practice Bar Method.

Her four legged children are: Storm, Eis (her Standard Poodles) and Lego (her yorkie). 

Her special areas of professional interest are internal medicine, especially geriatric, dermatology, dentistry and soft tissue surgery.
